Home to more than 700 species of birds, and other abundant wildlife in its numerous national parks, marine reserves, wildlife refuges, lakes, waterfalls and more. Honduras’ natural wonders are not to be missed. Punta Izopo National Park
admin2018-03-23T17:23:10+00:00Located on the eastern end of the bay of Tela, only 12 km from the town, this unique area takes its name from the small mountain that dominates the area and comes out into the Caribbean: Izopo Mountain. The exuberant vegetation of this area, which is irrigated by the Plátano and Hicaque Rivers, is home to a large variety of wildlife, including tropical birds such as parrots and toucans, monkeys, alligators and turtles.
